1. What does "Prereq" mean?

Prereq is short for "prerequisite"—the thing you need before everything else. In school, a prerequisite is the class you have to take before the next one. For us, Prereq is the foundation. The starting point. The first step in taking care of your skin the right way, before you get into all the complicated stuff you don't need yet. It's skincare 101—the basics done right.

2. Why "Real Starts Here"?

"Real" captures everything we stand for: real ingredients (nothing fake or unnecessary), real teen involvement (we built this with 50 actual teens, not focus groups of adults guessing), and real honesty (no magic promises, no manufactured cool).

"Starts Here" is about positioning Prereq as your beginning—the first step into skincare that actually makes sense for your life and your skin. It's not the end of your skincare journey, it's the foundation.

Together, it's a confidence statement. This is where you start taking care of your real skin, in your real life, as your real self.

3. How is Prereq "clean"? What standard do you use?

Not all "clean" labels mean the same thing. Sephora Clean, Ulta Clean, Target Clean—they all have different standards. We hold ourselves to Credo Clean standards, which are among the strictest in the industry. But honestly, we went further.

Every single ingredient in Prereq products scores a 1 on the Environmental Working Group scale—the safest possible rating. Not most ingredients. Every one. We're also 100% hormone-disruptor-free, dermatologist-tested, and Deo Multi-Mist meets National Eczema Association standards for sensitive skin.

When we say "obsessively safe," we mean we obsessed over every ingredient so you don't have to.

4. Does Prereq really have fewer ingredients than other products?

Yes. While some skincare products pack in 30+ ingredients, we kept our formulas tight, with only what your skin actually needs, nothing it doesn't. Hydro-Mist has 11 ingredients. Deo Multi-Mist has 16. Each one is there for a specific reason, and each one has the highest safety rating possible.

More ingredients doesn't mean better results. It often just means more chances for irritation, reactions, or stuff your skin didn't need in the first place.

5. What's the shelf life of Prereq products?

Prereq products have a shelf life of 2 years after opening. Store them at room temperature, keep the caps on when not in use, and they'll stay fresh. The twist-lock design also helps keep air and bacteria out between uses.

6. Will Prereq have other products like sunscreen or lip care?

We're a self-care brand, not just a skincare brand. Prereq is designed to be an umbrella for everything young skin needs—done safely and simply. That means lip care, body care, and yes, sunscreen are all on our radar. We're building this the right way: taking our time, co-creating with real teens, and making sure every product meets our "obsessively safe" standard before it launches.
